Incredible performance!
The maestro of the Royal Philharmonic, always smiling and bouncing about, laughing and smiling, yet still paying close attention to each instrument and all the happenings, had meander around the stage and listen to people on instruments and smile in a way watching his own hard work come to fruition.
The solos always turned out well; watching the people get some relaxation and play a jazz solo or such was a great change of pace. As always, his stage presence was warm and welcoming, making it feel really like he was just doing the performance for a small group of friends.
He came back and did four encores, with the insert of two acapella songs, one of which was a bit of "Free Bird." It was a request from a blow hard in the back, who Black Box Songwriter Series said he could understand his feelings because he "remembers his first joint too."
How much he got into each song, even doing a costume change for the moon over bourbon street. The dancing and the stage set up both were stunning without being overpowering or too distracting. Just be open-minded because some of his followers are a little rowdy and excitable but it's all in good taste.
Definitely a recommended experience for people of all ages and worth every cent. It all came together in a beautiful mix and was a great experience and memorable for all ages.
